Some of Berklee's most popular shows in recent years were produced by Jonathan Foo '18. He shares with us about his unique role and what it takes to produce live shows.
Jonathan is a live entertainment producer reputable for his event management. He directs concerts in their entirety from the music, choreography, lighting design, stage management, marketing, and overall logistics. He strives to achieve the highest standards of production, and understands the creativity and hard work required to achieve that. His strong business acumen has created a reputable brand for his shows, ensuring successful turnouts. The audience experience is everything to him.
Foo has produced three sold-out shows at the Berklee Performance Center; Beyoncé’s Original All-Female Band Concert in March 2017, The Bruno Mars Tribute Show in February 2018, and the Berklee Chinese New Year Concert in February 2018. He was handpicked to produce the annual Berklee Commencement Concert in May 2018, where he worked with Nile Rodgers, Rosanne Cash, Esperanza Spalding, and Terri Lyne Carrington. He was also scouted to help organize Berklee Career Jam in April 2018, where he facilitated the keynote session featuring Pharrell Williams. He also worked with Rob Lewis, renowned music director, and Lamont Leak, casting associate for NBC's The Voice. They created the first ever Career Jam Concert, showcasing Berklee's best talents to industry professionals.
