✎ At 9, she began playing the clarinet and at 14 began learning guitar. At 15, she started songwriting. Her career began when she met record producers Starsmith and Frankmusik. She released her debut extended play, An Introduction to Ellie Goulding in 2009. She released her debut studio album, Lights, which debuted #1 on the UK Albums Chart. Her cover of Elton John's "Your Song" reached number two in the UK. Her second album, Halcyon, debuted at number nine on the US Billboard 200. "Burn", became her first UK number-one single. At the 2014 Brit Awards, she received the award for British Female Solo Artist. In 2015, she received her first Grammy Award nomination for her single "Love Me like You Do".
