Earthquake hits Nepal delivery room | UNICEF

"When the earthquake struck, me and my colleagues were helping a woman deliver her child," remembers Charu Thapa Magar, a midwife at Trishuli District hospital in Nepal. The hospital was badly damaged by two high-magnitude earthquakes while Charu’s home was destroyed. She currently lives in a tent with her colleagues when she isn’t working tirelessly for Nepal’s new mothers and babies.
Around twelve babies are being born every hour without access to basic healthcare in the areas of Nepal worst hit by two powerful earthquakes. Find out more about our work for children and mothers there:
