It's important not to do these exercises while the face is still floppy so please follow the instructions carefully! We would not normally expect you to be doing these facial exercises until at least three months after diagnosis and the face must no longer be floppy.
For people who have had surgery to replace the facial nerve with another nerve or have had muscle transfers these exercises would NOT be appropriate and they need a specific exercise programme from a specialist therapist.
