This short video is about the amount of food waste there is, not the food we waste but food that farmers are forced to throw away and it never gets to the stores. This is madness this food is perfectly healthy and good for you, it just does not look like a super model. people are going hungry and we waste food because it is not a perfect model shape or shade. Insist on having this produce, they will sell it to us if enough of us ask for it. About 26% of Produce is Wasted in the U.S. before it even reaches the grocery store! This is mostly due to strict cosmetic standards from large grocers that dictate exactly how their fruit and veggies should look. This equals billions of pounds of good, healthy produce left uneaten because it doesn’t look pretty! If produce fails to make the grade for size, shape, or color it’s deemed "ugly" and unsellable.
