How do you transition into full-time trading? If you already have a job, transitioning while employed is often smarter than diving in right from retirement. Having a job provides a financial cushion, allowing you to focus on replacing your income gradually.

For example, if you’re making $100,000 a year, set a goal to reach 80% of that income through trading before considering a job switch. If you’re earning $100,000 from your job and an additional $80,000 from trading, you may find you don’t need to leave—though that choice is personal.

Aim to reach a point where trading income consistently meets or exceeds your job income. Also, make sure you experience a few challenging months in the market to test your resilience before fully committing to trading full-time.
