How do you set a trading goal? Effective trading goals focus on internal, controllable actions rather than external results. Many people set goals that are out of their control, creating a cycle of frustration and disappointment.

Instead, try setting goals based on actions you can directly influence. For example, decide to place a certain number of trades or to add a specific number of shares this week. These types of goals push you forward with a sense of progress.

It’s similar to practicing for a dance competition—you can control practicing five days a week, but not the judges’ final decision. By focusing on internal goals, you’ll build consistency and feel more empowered in your trading journey.
