I am a Firewalker - Unleash The Power Within (UPW)
The Tony Robbins firewalk is not an event for people who are happy with the status quo. The firewalk allows you to see outside your current limits, and encourages those who attempt it to redefine their capabilities — firewalking enables participants to unlock their true potential.
This can be intimidating at times, but those who are able to face their fears and walk across the coals leave the event feeling more confident than when they arrived. For many participants, such as Cameron Burnette, the firewalk reinforces that those who complete the walk are stronger than they could have imagined.
Cameron was videotaped as part of one of many Tony Robbins firewalk reviews, and told us that, “UPW (Unleash the Power Within) had a massive impact on my life.” Although he’s a young man, Cameron had to undergo brain surgery one month after his first firewalk.
The procedure was overall successful, but Cameron awoke from the surgery and was only able to move his eyes. He had lost control over the rest of his body. This condition is known as “locked-in syndrome,” and doctors told Cameron’s family that it might take up to 11 months for him to be able to talk or walk independently.
Cameron says that while he was recovering, he thought of the lessons he had learned during the firewalk. Cameron told the Tony Robbins team that one major lesson he took away from the event was that, “I couldn’t control the circumstances, but I could control how I reacted to the situation.” He chose to react in a positive manner, and believed that he would get better quickly.
Within five weeks, Cameron was talking and walking again. Soon after, he completed his second firewalk. During his recovery, he says he learned that miracles are possible.
“If I put myself in the right state of mind — peak state of mind — I can do anything,” said Cameron. Overcoming physical hurdles is a terrifying, although sometimes necessary, part of life. Cameron successfully made it through his brain surgery with his health in tact. Part of the emotional coping skills he needed to stay positive throughout the ordeal were things he learned from the Tony Robbins firewalk.
