This question was concerned with expressing discomfort without being rude - at least that's what I assume. They explicitly asked for how to phrase discomfort without using the word "unangenehm". Here's my take.

By the way: Something I neglected to mention regarding the word "unbehaglich" is that it can also mean "creepy" or even "eerie", depending on the context. So using that word would unlikely soften the blow.
