In a tweet, Kuo reported that one of the changes comes with the buttons. Apparently the volume and power buttons on the two Pro models of the iPhone 15 series may adopt a solid state design, similar to the iPhone’s 7 home button. Kuo also reported that the iPhone will feature additional Taptic Engines on both sides of the phone to provide feedback to user and to make it seem like you’re pressing physical buttons. Why is Apple doing this? We have no idea, and of course this idea isn't new. Aside from the iPhone 6S and it's force-touch home button, Cupertino also uses that method for its Mac trackpads, which do not physically move and simply mimic the feeling of being pressed with small vibrations. A few years ago there were rumors about the Apple Watch making the switch to solid state buttons but it never happened so we’ll see if Apple will debut this change on the iPhone. Just to wrap it up , Kuo ended his statement by saying that the buttonless design and USB-C will be two of the major updates for the iPhone 15.
