Mahalo Windows expert Sean Hewitt gives a tutorial on using copy and paste for Windows 7.
Copy and Paste
---------------------------------------------------------------------
* Open up any two folders you want to move files between. Left-click and hold on the specific file you would like and drag it over to the other folder then release the mouse. A keyboard shortcut for this is Ctrl+C followed by Ctrl+V in the new location.
* Another way to do this is to right-click on the file, which will prompt a new menu list. In this list, select Cut, which will make the file disappear. Right-click on the new destination, which will prompt another menu list. From this list, select Paste and the file will reappear in this new location.
* Yet another way to do this is to left-click the file once, followed by the keyboard command Ctrl+X. Once you have the new location selected, hit Ctrl+V and the file will reappear.
* To copy or cut multiple files at a time, hold down the Control key while selecting the various files. This will highlight any of the files you click on. If you want to copy or cut all present files within a folder, hit Ctrl+A and this will highlight all of them.
* To highlight every file except one, press Ctrl+A to select all the files then press Control while selecting the file you don't want to move.
* You can also click and drag a blue box over a group of folders that are clustered close together. This will select these files to be either cut or pasted as mentioned above.
* To delete any files, just left-click once on the specific file and then hit Delete on your keyboard. Click Yes to send it to the recycling bin.
