The Department of Global Communications’ Education Outreach Section held the inaugural United Nations Model UN Youth Summit on 12 April 2019 in New York. This one-day event featured workshops and plenaries led by inspiring student leaders and United Nations experts who shared their experiences and ideas on how to transform Model UN into a force for positive change. Charlotte Acra, a sixteen-year-old student from Silicon Valley, presented her project, called Little Miss Code, which provides Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)-centered opportunities to underprivileged youth, especially girls.
