During her time at Stanford, Marianne Cowherd has sailed across the Pacific Ocean with Stanford@Sea, snow camped in the Sierras, traveled to Palau for a Bing Overseas Studies program seminar, studied abroad in Santiago, Chile, served as a U.S. Forest Service wilderness ranger in Durango, Colorado, and interned at the Inian Islands Institute in Southeast Alaska. “There are ways that the real world is already here, and ways that leaving isn’t really like joining the real world," she says. "Going forward, I’m just trying as hard as I can to keep having a life that I’m happy with, and can be proud of, and think is good.” #Stanford19
