Three basic trips available...
Mohaka Grade II – (A Scenic Rafting Splash)
----------------------------------------------------------
Trips are for young families (recommended 5 and over) or those wishing for just a quiet float. Children are encouraged to float, swim a rapid, enjoy the scenery, rock jump, and have fun! Mum and Dad can join them.
The trip is 2 to 2.5 hours on the water through small canyons and beside native bush.

Mohaka Grade III - (The Whitewater Plunge)
--------------------------------------------------------------
Our most popular trip. You will experience grade III rapids, surfing waves and holes, cliff jumps, swimming rapids, walk into a gold mine, gorges, canyons and great scenery. The shuttle back to base is through typical back country New Zealand. We can customise this trip to suit those going. If you wish for something a little more “full-on” we can certianly provide it. Approx 4 to 5 hours on the water and you will still be wanting more.
Ideal for: family groups (recommended 12 and over ), work groups, high school trips, end of year outings, tourists or those wishing for a scenic trip with a thrill.

Mohaka Grade V – The Big One
---------------------------------------------------
For about 5 hours we negotiate past house size boulders, get propelled through narrow shoots and stop to appreciate the awe inspiring surrounds that change by the minute. Truly incredible scenery, well worth raising the adrenalin levels for. Our best natural wonders and geological oddities are on display. At Lower levels there will be mandatory portages. We run this section like an expedition or scenic adventure. The scenery is magnificent - You will want to see it!

My family of 4 with two teenagers had a great day of level 3 rafting with Sam as our guide, and Sam C. as his assistant. We also had an excellent guide in the kayak that followed us throughout the day. We loved the scenery and the expert guidance of Sam and crew. They were professional and friendly and we felt completely safe with them. Nothing to complain about except the sand flies, which Mohaka rafting has no control over. Great memorable family time. I would recommend it to all our friends who go to New Zealand's North Island.

This rafting ride was actually beautiful. The scenery was unbelievable. We thought that there would be some rapids involved but the few areas where there were rocks were not very rapid. The guide was pretty good and we found out that this adventure was considered a category 2 which is very tame. I think that this should be noted on their website. You can opt for a full day adventure and this would get you to a category 3 and maybe some category 4's. Again, this should be explained on thier website. They did provide food and drinks which was nice.

Had an amazing peaceful time rafting down the Mohaka with our guide Greg. very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the flora and fauna. Pointed out a very rare blue mountain duck or whio, eels, jurassic park canyon, fish and frog rock, and various other points of interest. If you have never been rafting, do this, you wont be dissapointed. Pulled over to speak to two fellas in the middle of absolutely nowhere catching trout.

Had a blast with Norm and Bill at Mohaka Rafting. We did a nice, gentle Grade 2 trip, and absolutely loved it. Even had a go at floating outside the raft (rapidly) down the river, on a couple of occasions - quite an experience!! Great value for money, all gear provided, and we even got a usb stick with photos from the trip (taken by cameraman of the year, Norm. Ha!) as we left.
