United Nations - Nadia Murad Basee Taha, who survived trafficking at the hands of ISIL, was appointed United Nations Office on Drugs on Crime (UNODC) Goodwill Ambassador for the Dignity of Survivors of Human Trafficking in September 2016.
She returned to the UN Security Council and delivered a powerful speech during the 7847th meeting on trafficking in persons in conflict situations.
