Love A Child is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Christian Humanitarian Organization, serving the needs of children in Haiti.

Founders Bobby and Sherry Burnette live in Haiti at the Love A Child Orphanage. They are working to spread the word of God and show the love of Jesus by example; ministering to the poorest of the poor in Haiti.

This week Bobby and Sherry take a medical team to the remote village of Peyi Pouri. "Peyi Pouri" means "rotten village" in Creole. The village sits on the top of a mountain about 40 miles from the Love A Child village in Fond Parisien, Haiti. The people in Peyi Pouri have no access to health care or even the basic necessities to care for their sick. Band-Aids and cough medicine are so expensive the people cannot afford them, and there are no doctors or hospitals less than a four- or five-hour walk down the mountain.

This is the first time Love A Child has brought a remote medical clinic to the people of Peyi Pouri. The team discovers a number of children with simple skin conditions, but also finds a few children that need extreme medical intervention to ensure their survival.

Ernesto is one such child.

Ernesto is being eaten from the inside out. The parasitic worms that are living inside him have eaten through his skin, opening sores that will eventually lead to his death. The team works to fight the infected sores from the outside and then they must formulate a plan to eliminate the parasite on the inside.

The first-ever medical team to Peyi Pouri arrived in time to give Ernesto a second chance at life. God worked through Love A Child to reach these children. How is He working through you? What is He telling you to do today?
