Sanjeev Vidyarthi has lived, worked, and studied in India, the Middle East, Europe, and the United States and is trained as an architect, urban designer and urban planner. Sanjeev grew up in the historical city of Udaipur and stood at the top of his High School's graduating class in 1986. He attended the prestigious Sir J.J. School of Architecture at the Bombay University and earned an honors degree in 1991. He then joined his college friends at Jaipur, a city planned in the 18th century which now serves as the capital of Rajasthan state, and together they went on to establish the leading architectural practice of the state. Over the next few years, the firm branched out into the fields of construction management and computer aided visualizations and employed well over 40 personnel. In 1998, his firm helped organize the first Architecture school of the Rajasthan state and he served as the founding chair. In 2002, he headed back to school as a student and earned a Master of Architecture in Human Settlements from Katholieke Universteit Leuven, Belgium, a Master of Urban Planning and a Doctor of Philosophy in Urban, Technological, and Environmental Planning from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
