While augmented and virtual reality have become the latest rage in the technology world, one thing they can't offer is a way to view 3D images without the aid of some viewing device. The Illumyn 3D Display changes all of that.

Using a glass chamber filled with cesium gas and crossed lasers, this device can display 3D images in real space from computer animations, allowing multiple viewers to see the image over 360 degrees.

The device was created by Curtis Broadbent, Chris Mullarkey and John Howell, and while there has already been significant improvements over several iterations of the device, they continue to work to make images brighter and increase its scale. In time, they hope to introduce it for medical, communication, advertising, and entertainment applications.
