The Siaya county government has vowed to pay treatment fees of all the 50 cholera patients admitted in various hospitals in Ugunja sub-county.
Siaya county governor has stated that the county government has instructed all the medical superintendents and proprietors not to charge the cholera patients admitted at the health facilities.
Mr. Rasanga said that the county government will refund all the patients that were forced to pay for medical treatment in private facilities including Rangala Mission hospital.
County health director, Dr. Samuel Omondi Owino, added that the county has supplied drugs and medical equipment to all medical facilities both public and private hospitals to manage the situation without the being forced to pay.
