Researchers say a light 5-minute walk every half hour reduces key risk factors from sitting too long. Columbia researchers asked 11 healthy adults to sit in their lab. For 8 hours a day over 5 days, the equivalent of a standard working week. Walking for 5 minutes every half an hour was the only strategy that reduced both risk factors. In fact, it reduced the blood sugar spike after eating by 60% and reduced blood pressure by 4 or 5 points #research #walking #workfromhome #health #lifestyle #bloodpressure
