United Nations - At least one in every three women and girls will experience physical or sexual violence during their lifetime. Even in such remote places as the Solomon Islands – an apparent island paradise in the southern Pacific where life, to an outsider, looks simple - women’s safety, and too often their lives, are at risk. UN Women is supporting training courses for inmates in the prison systems in a bid to reach perpetrators by educating them about gender equality.
