Many types of pollution end up in the ocean; the most well-recognized is plastic, but many others also cause untold damage to marine and coastal ecosystems, including nutrients, antibiotics, pharmaceuticals, heavy metals, industrial chemicals, pesticides, oil, gas and non-plastic solid waste. The cost of polluting the ocean is not just to the health of marine ecosystems, but also to human health and economies. What are the solutions being implemented?
