The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) hosted a First Friday Google+ Hangout (March 6, 2015). The focus of the Hangout was the Foundation’s renewed commitment to help all children in the U.S. grow up at a healthy weight. The conversation touched on strategies to eliminate the health disparities that contribute to higher obesity rates among children of color and children living in poverty. Susan Dentzer, senior policy adviser to the Foundation, hosted the discussion with leading experts who are spearheading efforts to help schools, parents, and communities shape environments so that kids can eat more healthfully and increase their levels of physical activity. The panelists highlighted progress toward reversing the childhood obesity epidemic and offer recommendations for children and parents to promote healthy eating and physical activity.
This event is part of the #RWJF1stFri series – a platform to inform RWJF audiences about lessons our partners are learning as we all work to build a Culture of Health.
