One year on from the 2014 conflict, Palestinian children are still trying to recover from the devastating effects of 51 days of hostilities in Gaza. Children aged over six have now lived through three conflicts in their short lives, and children aged 10 or less have only known life in Gaza under closure.
“I want to become an engineer so I can rebuild people's homes...our house, ” says Malak, 12, after she walks through the destroyed buildings that surround her in Gaza. Given the slow pace of reconstruction, the UN predicts Gaza will be unlivable by 2020.
