Does calorie counting work for weight loss? If not, why are so many of us still counting calories to lose weight? Today we’re diving into why “calories in calories out” is an oversimplified myth born of diet culture & the diet industry.

The idea of calories in calories out for weight loss is built on the concept of energy balance: that if we BURN more calories than we CONSUME, then we’ll lose weight. But, despite the popularity of this idea, calorie counting and calorie tracking just don’t work for weight loss for SO many people.
