United Nations - The United Nations marked the World Humanitarian Day, on the 19th of August 2016, by honouring 22 staff members who lost their lives in the bombing of the UN Headquarters in Baghdad, in 2003. At a commemorative event at the UN Headquarters in New York, the UN Deputy Secretary-General, Jan Eliasson called on the UN to be inspired by those staff members, with a call for the continued shouldering of everyone's own responsibility to work for peace, development, and human rights.
