This sandbox uses augmented reality to create interactive topographic maps.
Using a projector, depth sensing camera and computer software, an image is displayed showing the elevation, depth and coastlines of the land, providing more detail than a usual map.
When the shape of the sand is changed, the camera recognises the adjustment and updates the projection based on the new elevations.
It can me used for educational purposes or just for fun. This map was created by Beals Science. Awesome!
