First, I'm not anti cardio. I'm pro strategic cardio. There's a difference between steady state running just to burn calories vs timed hit intervals 2x a week or working with a run coach to train for a race. Many people, my former self included who do/did cardio because it burned the most calories. This mindset however ignores the value of muscle and it's effects on your metabolism.
Constant hit/cardio will burn your adrenals leaving you exhausted, prevent you from benefitting from rest, and potentially cause you to lose muscle if you're not properly fueling your cardio sessions leading you to a slower metabolism.

Instead, replace 2-3 of those cardio workouts with strategic, effective strength training sessions. It's gonna be tough to get over that mental hurdle of burning xxx amount of calories for some but I promise long term this is the most sustainable way to lose fat, build muscle and GLOW UP as we enter 40 and beyond.
