United Nations - The first-ever UN Global Data Forum is set to kick off in Cape Town, South Africa. Speaking to UN News ahead of this ground-breaking forum, UN Under-Secretary-General Wu Hongbo highlighted the vital role that data, or statistics, can play in the realisation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Mr. Wu also noted that the Cape Town Forum aims to rally support from the international community, so as to better help developing countries - especially the least developed countries - to bridge their data gap, through partnerships and capacity building.
