United Nations - With rapid urbanisation, cities are becoming increasingly central to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), according to UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon. Speaking to the press in Quito, Ecuador, where the UN Habitat III conference is taking place, the UN chief linked the role of cities closely to the movements of climate action, global prosperity, peace, and human rights. Mr Ban also highlighted the need to work towards more "inclusive, safe, resilient, healthier and sustainable" cities.
