On Day 3 of UN week, world leaders continued to address the General Assembly on how to address global challenges.
Officials and activists renewed their commitment to the Convention on the Rights of the Child as they marked its 30th anniversary. With the support of all but one country on earth, this is the most universally accepted human rights agreement in history.
The Security Council discussed countering terrorist threats through international collaboration between the United Nations and regional and sub-regional organizations.
Leaders also convened a high-level meeting on the Malian peace process and the Sahel to examine progress achieved so far in the volatile region and chart a course for the future.
