Linear friction welding welds materials together using heat from friction. After placing two materials into a welding machine they are then pushed tightly together. One of the two materials moves quickly against the other, causing them to melt from the heat produced, combining them. The process is capable of combining materials together extremely quickly, sometimes in as little as a second.
