Hie Folks,
Many of us enjoy taking a shower in hot water to warm up and shake off the chill. Although tub time may feel like a luxury, it can wreak havoc on your skin making it dry, irritated & itchy.
Hot showers can disrupt the skin's natural balance of moisture, robbing off the natural oils & proteins that keep the skin healthy.
Now what's the solution?
For people who have the habit of taking hot showers there are some things you can do to at least make them a little less destructive.
Avoid use of harsh soaps. Instead, try a moisturizing shower gel or oil. This will help prevent your skin from getting drier.
Put few spoonfuls of oil, whether olive oil, almond oil, grape seed oil, into the bathwater as this will relieve some of the dryness.
Pat yourself dry, and apply an unscented lotion or cream to your still-damp skin. This will help lock in moisture.
And finally try to monitor the temperature of shower, keeping it below 110 degrees Fahrenheit. This will keep your skin hydrated & prevent from rashes.
