5 million businesses were founded in the US in 2022. That’s 42% more than were launched in 2019. 47% of those new businesses were founded by women. Before the pandemic, just 29% of US entrepreneurs were women. That’s according to a survey by payroll services firm Gusto. The number of Black and African American entrepreneurs has fallen, however.
