120 years after the first Cairo Genizah manuscripts were brought to Cambridge University Library, A Brush with History explores the painstaking process of conserving them– separating out individual fragments from caked-together bundles, flattening, carefully removing dirt, and consolidating ink. Produced with funding from the Wellcome Trust, through its Research Resources and Public Engagement grants, as part of the project at Cambridge University Library's Genizah Research Unit 'Medicine in Medieval Egypt'.
