Betty demonstrates how to make Broiled Hamburger Steak. This is a great entrée to go with Onion Rings of Fire, the previous video in Betty’s Kitchen.
Broiled Hamburger Steak
1 ½ pounds ground beef (I used ground sirloin, but you may use any ground beef.)
1 teaspoon table salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons finely minced onion
1 well-beaten egg
1/3 cup milk
melted butter, for brushing top of steak
In a large bowl, place all ingredients, except butter. Mash with potato masher until blended. Form with hands into four 6-ounce “steaks” that are ¾-inch thick. (You may make them into the shape of steaks or into circles or ovals.) Place on broiler pan. Brush with melted butter. Broil 4 to 5 inches from heat source about 8 minutes per side, turning once. The steaks should be cooked all the way through. These steaks are great with Onion Rings of Fire, the previous video in Betty’s Kitchen. Enjoy! --Betty :)
