By all means prepare your birth plan and get it down on paper.... in the very least it will help you confront issues that are likely to arise. 
It is rare that a woman is able to completely stick to her birth plan sometimes it never comes out of the bag.... Once labor has begun, you don't know what fate has in store for you on the day and how you will cope with it anyway. 
Most women have ideas and expectations about their labor and birth experience, but it is best to Remain Open.
It is impossible to predict exactly what will happen in the delivery room, and flexibility will result in a more satisfying and positive experience.
