Copycat Popeyes Chicken Sandwich ????
Serves: 2–4 | Time: ~1.5 hrs (including brine)
The famously crispy, juicy, spicy southern club‑style sandwich.
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
4 chicken breasts, pounded to even thickness
1 cup buttermilk
1 tbsp hot sauce
1 cup plain flour
1 tsp each: paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, pepper
Oil for deep frying
4 brioche buns
Pickles
Mayonnaise mixed with hot sauce (for spicy mayo)
Method:
Marinate chicken in buttermilk and hot sauce for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Mix flour and spices in a shallow bowl.
Remove chicken from marinade, dredge in flour mix, pressing to coat.
Heat oil and fry chicken until golden and cooked through (internal temp 75°C / 165°F).
Toast buns. Spread spicy mayo on both sides, add chicken and pickles.
