To mark our 70th anniversary the lights of the Empire State Building in New York were turned UNICEF-blue and were switched on by Goodwill Ambassador David Beckham. As he flipped the switch, David shared his thoughts on what UNICEF turning 70 means to him.
UNICEF was established on 11 December 1946 to bring help and hope to children suffering in the aftermath of WWII. Immense progress has been made over the last seven decades but the emergencies faced today by the most vulnerable children threaten to undermine this progress - too many children are being left behind. We will do whatever it takes to protect children no matter where they are in the world.. Learn more about our work:
