In the Central African Republic, a 17-year old boy escaped the militia that recruited him. ‘Ahmed’ – his name has been changed to protect his identity – sought refuge in a police cell. Since 2013, the country has been insnared in an armed conflict characterized by armed groups which have conscripted many children against their will.
