How do you choose a good melon? What I do is I grab a melon and I squeeze it, not where the stem is, the opposite end, and it's got to have a little give. Or you could shake it, when you hear the water then that means it's on the ripened stage. Veins itself represent the sugar content in a melon. It might look ugly to some people. It's an indication it's going to be a good melon.
