pack up = We need to pack up and go. We need to pack up our things.

double check = Check twice to be certain about something.
We need to double check and make sure we didn't leave anything in the hotel room.

head to = leave for a specific destination
Today we're headed to another island.

play it by ear = make plans as you go along and not in advance
