Mahalo's Windows expert Sean Hewitt shows you how to use the Resource Monitor.

To access the Resource Monitor, open the Search bar, enter "resource monitor" and then press Enter. The Resource Monitor shows you your usage for your CPU, memory and network.

It also breaks down which program is using what. For instance, let's say you open up Internet Explorer. Once it's running, if you look at the Resource Monitor, you'll see that there is one program generating a lot of traffic—and that's Internet Explorer. You could then make the choice to either end the task or completely uninstall it from your system.

The same goes for hard drive usage or how much RAM is being taken up. If your system is running very slowly, it's possible a program has gone awry and is eating up a lot of memory. The Resource Monitor makes it easy to track precisely where this memory is going.
