United Nations - In 2013, the UN Security Council allowed UN peacekeeping missions to use unarmed surveillance drones, as part of their operations in the ground. The usage of new technologies to rapidly respond to threats and armed groups in hard to reach areas is becoming an essential component of UN missions’ response to protect civilians.
