Must-Try Argentine STEAK SANDWICHES + CHORIZO on a Bun | Classic ARGENTINE SNACK in Buenos Aires

In today's episode, we're taking you out for some must-try steak sandwiches in Buenos Aires - a classic argentine snack!

There's this restaurant we had been hearing about called 'Los Platitos'. The name translates to 'the little plates', but let me assure you, the portions here are anything but that! If you're hungry and you want to try some of the best steaks in the city, this is a good place to come.

The restaurant is dedicated to beef in its entirety. You can either sit in the main dining area or grab a stool at the bar where you can watch the grillmasters work their magic. The setting is an old-fashioned bodegón-style restaurant with large portions and waiters who can memorize your order no matter how complicated. It's a classic Buenos Aires dining experience!

We decided to order their steak sandwiches; we got the tenderloin steak sandwich, the rump steak sandwich and chorizo on a bun.

It may seem strange to eat steak in a sandwich but this comes from the long tradition of food stands that used to line the waterfront, where people would come and eat grilled meat on a bun (a classic argentine snack) along the river on the weekends. This particular restaurant also started out as a food stand that grew and evolved with its loyal clientele.

If you stroll the 'costanera' on a weekend, you'll come across a few barbecue food stands though they aren't quite as prevalent as they used to be. Either way, if you visit Buenos Aires and you want to try great steaks in a casual setting outside the downtown core, this is a good place to check out!
