TEXT:
There are many decisions we make in life. One of the most important choices is our profession. How do we know if we’ve chosen correctly? Do we trust our mind or our heart?

Parents and teachers can guide us because they know us and they know the world. Some youthful dreams may be difficult to follow. Can a poet or singer earn enough? That’s what a mother or father would ask. Perhaps there are other ways to entertain and make money. That’s what a teacher might suggest.

In the end, the person who decides is you. There will always be critics, but don’t let anyone kill a dream you’re determined to realize. You’ll never know if you can learn a trade until you actually attempt it. Take the time to train and look for opportunities.

The world holds many possibilities. You can join a law firm, enter the medical profession, run for political office, shoot films, cook on a ship, become a police officer, travel and teach English, or open a store and sell what you love. Money matters, but follow the dream and not the dollar.
