The Harvard Medical School Center for Primary Care held its first annual Primary Care Innovations Conference at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center in Boston on October 13, 2011. The conference celebrated the Center's opening, highlighted the breadth and depth of innovative work taking place within the Greater Boston area's primary care community, shared knowledge and excitement about transforming primary care, and facilitated networking for primary care innovators and practitioners.Robert Reid, MD, PhD, is associate medical director for health services research&knowledge translation at Group Health Cooperative and associate investigator at the Group Health Research Institute. His research and leadership roles revolve around developing and testing innovations in primary care, preventive services and chronic care in Group Health's enrolled population. Reid is also affiliate associate professor of health services at the University of Washington and adjunct professor of population and public health at the University of British Columbia.Reid obtained his medical degree at the University of Alberta. He completed an MPH in epidemiology, a medical residency in public health, and a PhD in health policy and management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Reid is a fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine.
