"Once upon a time" is the opener of many stories with happy endings. Yet, our story is not one of them," says 16-year-old Erij. Now at a camp in Turkey, she channeled memories of home and the grueling journey from Syria into an autobiography. Her plans for it? "If my book gets published one day, I want the children around the world to know what Syrian children went through,” she says.
