The annual William James Lecture (The Unfulfilled, Yet Not Unfulfillable, Quest for Moral Wisdom in Academic Life: Why William James Still Matters) was presented on December 5, 2011, by Arthur Kleinman, Esther and Sidney Rabb Professor of Anthropology in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Professor of Medical Anthropology in the Faculty of Medicine at Harvard University. Respondents were HDS faculty members Davíd Carrasco, Neil L. Rudenstine Professor of the Study of Latin America, and Kimberley C. Patton, Professor of the Comparative and Historical Study of Religion.
