Looking to make an impressive dessert this holiday season but are too intimidated to try something new? Napoleon or Mille-Feuille translated means one thousand sheets or layers which may sound impossible but it’s really not as hard to make as you think… use store-bought puff-pastry which cuts down on time and make sure to roll the dough out thin enough. The pastry cream needs to thicken but not so it won’t easily spread and don’t over apply. Put in fridge before slicing.

INGREDIENTS:
-1 package (14 ounces) store-bought puff pastry, thawed in refrigerator if frozen
-Granulated sugar, for sprinkling
-3 tablespoons heavy cream, plus more, as needed
-2 tablespoons instant espresso powder
-1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, sifted
-Espresso Pastry Cream
-1 ounce dark chocolate (70%), melted and cooled slightly
